Planning Jamestown's Part in the Nation's 250th Birthday

The Jamestown Town Council has appointed the 250th Commission to coordinate events related to the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and to the Revolutionary War that resulted. The Commission has spent a few months getting organized, and now want's to hear from the community, both individuals and organized groups, about how Jamestown should commemorate this multi-year anniversary. Anyone interested should come with ideas and suggestions. If you or your organization is doing something to celebrate, come and let us know.

The Jamestown Tick Task Force is pleased to present Dr. Thomas Mather, nationally known tick expert and authority on Lyme Disease. Dr. Mather is a professor of Public Health Entomology at the University of Rhode Island and the Director of the Tick Encounter Resource Center. He will discuss the spread of ticks in Rhode Island and the threat of the tick-borne disease in Jamestown.
