Volunteer

Volunteers provide much-needed services at our library. These services vary based on the volunteer’s interests and the library’s current needs.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

  • Shelving or repairing library materials (training is provided and required)
  • Assisting with special events, such as book sale setup or the Summer Reading Program finale party
  • Other tasks as needed, at the discretion of library staff

If you are an adult interested in sharing your talents and expertise with the Jamestown Philomenian Library, please contact Library Director Lisa Sheley at lisa@jplri.org. Volunteers must complete a Volunteer Agreement and a BCI background check.

For youth in grades 7 through 12, please visit the Teen Volunteers page for the most up-to-date information. You may also contact Youth Services Librarian Colleen LeBeau at colleen@jplri.org. Teen volunteers must complete a Teen Volunteer Application with a parent or guardian’s signature.
