Jackson, Gillman, an award-winning storyteller, will give a workshop on turning personal experiences into spoken and written stories. There will be a potluck break for lunch.
Gillman is the winner of the Oracle Award, the equivalent of the Academy Award for storytelling, has taught college course on story-telling, and has coached hundreds of people in turning experiences into stories.
Participants explore processes of crafting material from real life experiences to build stories that have meaning and “grab.” Various group exercises will prompt participants to mine their own personal nuggets worthy of polishing. The workshop is for beginners and for people who have been writing for years and are looking for new ways to tell their stories.
