Discover the real story of the notorious author. This documentary, originally shown on PBS American Masters, explores misrepresentations of Poe and reveals how he tapped into what it means to be human in a modern and sometimes frightening world. Starring Denis O’Hare as Edgar Allan Poe. Narrated by Kathleen Turner. Following the showing, the filmmaker, Eric Stange of Spy Pond Productions, will present a colorful talk on the challenges of making it, the surprisingly active community of Poe fans, and further anecdotes about Poe and his life.
